Consider your exercise goals, health needs, and lifestyle expectations as you decide on a new adjustable base product. If reducing snoring is your goal, then perhaps the ESSENTIAL series is the perfect solution for a simple adjustable headrest experience. Will an adjustable base work with my existing mattress/bed?

Yes. Your adjustable bed base is also compatible with most mattresses but works best with memory foam, latex, gel, innerspring, and airbed mattresses.

Will an adjustable base work with a box spring?

No. An Owen Holmes adjustable bed base takes the place of your boxspring. You place your mattress directly on top of the base. If you have a bed with side rails, the base fits inside most bed frames and then the mattress fits on top.

Will an adjustable base work with my existing bedframe and/or headboard?

Yes. We offer an optional universal headboard bracket compatible with most popular headboard designs. If you use a slat system bed frame, please make sure the weight rating can support your adjustable bed.

Do I need special sheets for an adjustable bed?

No. Owen Holmes adjustable bed bases are compatible with standard fitted sheets. However, if you purchase a split king (a base where the left and right sides move independently with two mattresses), you will need to use two twin XL fitted sheets – one for each side.

Why do I need an adjustable base bedframe?

Many people don't realize they need one until they try one. An Owen Holmes adjustable bed is more than just ergonomic –it's scientifically proven to help align your spine and alleviate pain. The Anti-Snore function elevates your head and chest toopen upairways, and the Zero-Gravity function promotes weightless relaxation and holistic recovery. Are adjustable bedframes worth the price?

The answer is simple: YES. We talk so much about investing in our future but that should also include investing in the future of our health and wellbeing. With literally dozens of ways to adjust to your unique needs, finding the perfect adjustable bed base from Owen Holmes is the start of a new chapter towards greater sleep, more restorative wellness routines, and more purposeful lifestyle decisions.

What is a split adjustable base?

Just like split king mattresses, a split adjustable bedframe is great for couples who have different comfort needs. A split adjustable bed allows both you and your partner to customize each side of the mattress to achieve personalized support independent of what the other prefers.

Can I set up an Owen Holmes adjustable base myself?

Yes! There are detailed instructions for setup/installation in the Owner’s Manual provided with the adjustable base.

*Please note, two people are required for setup/installation.

Is there a weight limit for adjustable beds?

Your Owen Holmes product is not rated to support weights in excess of 750 pounds (340kgs), inclusive of the mattress and bedding. Your adjustable bed is also not designed to support or lift this amount in the head or foot sections alone. Exceeding the specified weight restriction could damage the bed and/or cause injury. Exceeding these limits in any manner will void your product warranties.

FEATURES

What is Zero Clearance?

Adjustable base models that feature zero clearance are designed so working mechanisms do not extend below the base frame. This allows the base to be used without legs, e.g. on a platform bed with under-bed storage.

What is the zero-gravity position?

The zero-gravity position on an adjustable bed base mimics the position astronauts take during liftoff. The position is meant to ease the stress on their bodies as they escape Earth’s gravity. The position raises the feet to the same level as the heart. People who have back pain or who would like to increase their circulation often find this position extremely relaxing.

What does Wall-Saving mean?

Owen Holmes's innovation team developed state-of-the art technology that puts you at the center of the bed's motion. While other adjustable bed bases lift your upper body away from the wall – and away from your nightstand – bases with Wall-saving® engineering lift you up while simultaneously gliding you back. That means your favorite book and the remote control are within reach whenever you’re ready for them.

Can I change the height of my adjustable base?

Yes. Many adjustable base models include height-adjustable legs. On models that come standard with solid steel legs, leg height kits are available for separate purchase.

How much does my adjustable bed base weigh?

On average the bases weigh between 150-200lbs.

What are the differences between Wall-saving and non-Wall-saving bases?

Wall-saving bases raise your upper body while gliding back, so your nightstands and favorite items stay within easy reach. On the other hand, non-Wall-saving bases raise your upper body away from the wall and nightstands.
